How to Make in Adobe PDF and Microsoft Word
Step 1 – Download in Adobe PDF (.pdf) and Microsoft Word (.doc).
Step 2 – At the top, write your name and contact information, and write the invoice number and date to the right.
Step 3 – Sold To – Enter the name and contact information for the customer here.
Step 4 – Table – Write in each separate service provided on a separate row. Include the quantity and type of unit to the left, and the price for each unit to the right (e.g., 1 = quantity, bag = unit, X-Brand fertilizer = item). Multiply the quantity by the price to fill in the total column. Add the row to get the subtotal, and then include taxes and other charges to get the grand total.
How to Make in Microsoft Excel
Step 1 – Download in Microsoft Excel (.xls).
Step 2 – Heading – Include the invoice number and date at the top, followed by your company’s name and contact information where it reads “Mailing Info,” including PayPal ID if needed. Then enter the customer’s contact information to the right.
Step 3 – Description – Enter each separate service performed on different rows, with the hours and rate for each to the right. This will give you the total amount due for each service.
Step 4 – Total – Each figure in the amount column added together gives you the subtotal. Include any taxes or discounts to reach the grand total the client owes.
Step 5 – Below that, specify the name to make checks payable to, either you or your company’s name, and add any comments to the left regarding payment due dates or methods of payment.
