How to Make in Adobe PDF ad Microsoft Word

Step 1 – Download in Adobe PDF (.pdf) or Microsoft Word (.doc).

Step 2 – Heading – At the top, enter your name and contact info, and then to the right enter the date and number of the invoice. Below this, fill in the name, billing address, and phone number of the client.

Step 3 – Description of Services – Generally describe each service provided here, such as “headshot photography.”

Step 4 – Pricing Table – Enter each service provided on a separate row to calculate the cost of each. Describe each service so the reader will understand what’s being charged for, and include the quantity and rate to the right so you can reach a total for each service by multiplying.

Step 5 – Add each figure in the Total column to get the subtotal, and apply any taxes to get the grand total.

How to Make in Microsoft Excel

Step 1 – Download in Microsoft Excel (.xls).

Step 2 – At the top, enter the name, number, and email of the photographer, along with the invoice number.

Step 3 – Bill To – Write the name of the customer or company, followed by the address, phone number, customer ID, purchase order, and payment due date. Include the sales person, company ID, and delivery date of work if needed.

Step 4 – Table – Enter a separate row for each separate service performed. Then enter the quantity and rate for each service to the right (e.g., Editing, 10 photos, $50/10 photos) to get the total due for each service. The numbers in the Amount column will combine to give you the subtotal. Apply any taxes, shipping, or other charges to get the grand total. To complete the invoice, indicate whom to make checks payable to at the bottom.
